From November 13th to 17th, 2023, the second training week took place in the Bennohaus in Münster / Westphalia as part of the Erasmus+ project “Trust in Truth – Medialiteracy in postpandemic times”. Building on previous project work, the participants from Germany, Estonia, France, Greece, Italy and Spain tested numerous additions to the teaching and learning content for the Internet platform “Trustintruth.eu” and the supplementary reader. The project results will provide media educators and youth workers with instructions for training units in the area of media education. Youth4Media has its origin in the Bennohaus.
In the fight against fakenews, propaganda and hatespeech, media education is a central instrument in the fight for democracy and peace. Münster/Westphalia, the city in which the 30 Years’ War in Europe was ended with the “Peace of Westphalia” in 1648, therefore also has great current symbolic power. The project participants were impressed by the historic “Peace Hall” in the Münster town hall. The project participants were warmly welcomed by Mayor Angela Stähler.
